There are total 7 steps in the full process of
Glassware Manufacturing
Step 1: Get Raw Material Prepared
The primary raw materials we use for making glass cups are sand, soda ash, limestone, and cullet. These materials are mixed in specific proportions to create soda-lime glass. However, other types of glass cups may require additional inputs.

Step 2: Design The Drawing
This is a very important step to move forward the glassware design. It is the key from concept to creation. Making glasswares is a journey with creativity and precision.
Firstly, you tell what you need. It’s all about listening, understanding, and envisioning the final glass cup.
Secondly, Once the requirements are clear, the design phase begins. This is where ideas take shape, and creativity flows. Sketches are drawn, and concepts are developed, all with the client’s vision in mind.
The third, Before the actual production, a prototype is created. This tangible model allows both the client and the manufacturer to see and feel the product. It’s a crucial step to ensure everything is just right.

Step 3: Confirming The Right Technique
This step is crucial for deciding the right production technique, whether it’s machine-made or handcrafted. You can get a clearer understanding through the following:
How to distinguish between hand-blown glassware and machine-made glassware?
Once the design gets the green light, we move on to the next critical phase—deciding the right production technique. The choice between machine-made and handcrafted is vital as it will impact the final look, feel, and cost of your custom glassware.
We’ll discuss both options with you, taking into account your design, the intended use of the glassware, your timeline, and budget. Our team will offer expert advice, explaining the advantages of each method based on your specific needs. The goal is to ensure that the production technique aligns with your product vision, brand image, and the expectations of your target audience.

Step 4: Install Molds
Mold installation is a crucial phase, and at Lida Glassware, we’ve streamlined this process to make it as efficient as possible.
Our team carefully selects the appropriate mold based on your design specifications and places it in our state-of-the-art glass manufacturing machinery. This setup not only shapes the glass but also influences its texture, weight, and overall finish.
We install a complete set of molds into the machine, and we also keep spare molds on hand. This ensures that if a mold gets damaged during production, it can be replaced promptly without affecting the manufacturing process. Before production starts, we preheat each mold with a spray gun. This ensures that when the glass material is poured into the mold, any potential defects due to uneven heating and cooling are avoided.

Step 5: Arrange Packages
Custom packaging design does more than just protect the glassware during transit; it also elevates your brand image and creates a memorable experience for your customers.
When the glass products produced don’t require secondary processing, we prepare the export packaging according to customer requirements.

After the glass cups are produced, workers can directly box them for storage following quality checks at the workstation. This operation significantly reduces repetitive labor and minimizes product damage that could occur during secondary packaging. At the same time, customized information on the packaging offers an opportunity to leave a positive impression on consumers and strengthen the brand image.
If glasswares needs the secondary processing, we would pack the glasses as below. Put all of them on the pallets, wrapped with paper to avoid any scratches.

Step 6: Mass Production
In formal glass cup production, the process is divided into several steps. First, the glass raw materials are melted into liquid form in a high-temperature furnace. A cutting machine then slices this liquid into chunks of molten glass, the amount of which is set according to the specific products being made on the production line. These chunks are then dropped into individual molds on the machine table via a feeder. The machine’s press rod immediately compresses into the mold, and the glass cup takes shape.
During this process, a high-temperature flame gun continuously heats both the mold and the glass cup. This prevents the mold from cooling down and the glass cup from cracking due to uneven temperatures. The flame gun also polishes any rough or uneven surfaces on the glass. Robotic arms then automatically remove the glass cups from the molds and place them on a conveyor belt, which leads them into a cooling furnace.
The cooling furnace has different temperature zones to gradually reduce the high temperature of the glass cups, thereby improving the product’s stress resistance. After exiting the cooling furnace, the glass cups are no longer at a high temperature. Workers at the other end of the cooling furnace inspect the products, boxing or palletizing those that pass quality checks. Defective items are immediately discarded and become broken glass, which is also a raw material for production.
Therefore, the materials used in glass cups are not only safe but also environmentally friendly and recyclable. Here is the manufacturing video which helps you to understand better.
Step 7: Surface Treatment
After the glass cups are completed, they undergo surface treatment on the exterior. These can be for decoration, labeling, or even wear resistance. We have a range of specialized equipment and expertise for various treatments, including:
